I have a 3 year old son who has trouble using the wiimote with most wii games. This game is perfect for young children due to the fact the wiimote is used like a regular controller and does not need to be pointed at the tv screen. He loves it.

This is a great game for kids. Very interactive, and self-explanatory. There are pictures on the screen of what the kids are supposed to do, like wiggle the remote back and forth to make Diego climb a ladder, etc. I feel better about letting my child play this game than sitting and staring at the tv, this gets him up and out of the chair, and moving around. He has to pay attention to the plot and make Diego go through the scenes. The only negative I have as an adult is listening to Diego talk, and talk, and talk…..

We just unpacked our Wii, played the games that came with the system and got bored, so ventured to our local game rental place for the kids. My newly-4 yr old daughter in particular had felt somewhat left out and intimidated by all the other games requiring much better fine motor skill than she has at her age, and opted to watch her older sister play them all. We decided to focus on her needs so ended up getting some random games with kid-friendly cover art..but they still had tons of reading, or you died off quickly and had to start over. Or the images scared her. We actually returned to the rental place the same day with a disappointed child, an hour later, and they let us choose again. All I have to say to echo everyone else is THANK GOD for Diego! She can’t die. Nothing is scary. Lots of praise. And it gets her to move (digging, pushing things, climbing vines…). Her fine motor is improving because of this game, and will act as a building block to playing more advanced ones.
