As a huge fan of the original Dead Space and on-rails shooters, this was a no-brainer buy.

But, it’s only mediocre. The graphics look really outdated at times (even N64-ish). I know that means nothing to gameplay, but it really does look old in places. And the gameplay is also lacking. They tried to tell a convincing story with characters, which can be decent at times, but it drags on. Sometimes you want to get on with the level and shoot, but are stuck with characters blabbing on and on. And then when you do get to fight, none of the weapons feel satisfying. The first game had weapons that were fun to experiment with, but this game makes you feel like they are mainly useless and to rely on the pistol, rivet gun, or line gun, with the pulse rifle for the times other guns can’t hit their mark. Everything else feels like a waste, and the guns just mentioned are just basic shot types. Alternate fire is a joke because your wrist will start to cramp up trying to hold the Wiimote sideways for extended periods of time (Rivet Gun). Not to mention the shaky camera (which I turned all the way down) making it hard to pick up objects efficiently or shoot enemies.

I don’t wanna go on and on about my disappointment. The game gets batter towards the end, but the Challenge Mode feels like a funner game than the main game. It’s not worth a full purchase, but if you’re dying for an on-rails shooter, check it out. It just made me want to play Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles instead.

Im so very upset. When I bought this game I had no idea it was going to be controling you the whole time. One direction sucks!!!! I was so excited b/c I thought it was gonna be like the first dead space I played but this is just uhhhhhhh!!!! SO very mad. The dead space I played on the playstation was a 10 this game is a 0 to me. I wasted my money. However a person who likes one way would find this very interesting and fun:) But I like games where you have to figure things out on your own:( I hate it,’( Blahhhh. They should warn you or put something on the front of the game that says its a on-rail shooter. This in my eyes was a huge loss & Rip-Offfffff!!!!!. Screw this game im pis—-st. I got bored…………………………………..UHHHH!!!!

Yeah…I wrote this awesome review for the first Dead Space game stating my expectations for the sequel. Well I bought this game and I played it and I beat it and now it’s sitting on my video game shelf because I can’t bring myself to play it again although I’m really fond of the Dead Space idea and story production. I mean 4 stars for fun the first time around and eventually I’ll play it again? but this game is not worth buying a Wii over unless you must really get to know the pre-story which is not to informative of anything special AT ALL (and I mean that 110%), just slightly slightly SLIGHTLY interesting story. If you must play I recommend renting the game or game and console. You can beat the game in about 5 to 8 hours approximate. Well looking forward to Dead Space 2 (maybe a game that will truely deliver) o and by the way this game IS NOT SCARY AT ALL AND NO GREAT CREEPY AUDIO!

I had high expectations for this game but I am some what disappointed. This game doesn’t even come close to the greatness of the first Dead Space. My biggest reasons..

#1 This game should have been on superior consoles like Xbox and PS3 instead. No lame rail shooter. Give me 3rd person freedom.

    - The camera moves way to much even on the lowest “camera shake” setting.

    - You are forced to constantly hit A to grab stuff. Otherwise you will miss ammo and upgrades to your weapons. This makes it difficult to pay attention to the story at times.

    - Sound and graphics are not as good as first game.

    - The best part of this game is that it is 2 player.

All said and done this is a good game for the WII. But I would have prefered if they had made it a sequal for XBOX 360 with an actual controller.

If I hadn’t played the first game on the Xbox I might have liked this more.

Its not bad for a Wii game but doesnt compare to the original.

This is a rental only for me.
