Like many other people out there I was really anticipating this game. I liked Forza 1, I was slightly addicted to Forza 2, and, after playing for a couple of hours last night, I think Forza 3 lives up to (and probably will exceed) expectations.
I have always played using the regular controller rather than the wheel. In my opinion, driving using the regular controller and the new driver’s-seat, dashboard view is far easier than the hood-top view from Forza 2. I think it’s because I can see a simulation of my hands on the wheel. Couple that with the very realistic (even through the standard controller) steering/road feedback feature, and I don’t think I’m going to buy the driving wheel now. Overall, the steering feel is far, far better than Forza 2.
From the “It’s-in-the-details” section: At one point while test driving my car on Nurburgring, my car bottomed out and jarred my rear view mirror out of place! Nice!
I also like the expanded upgrade features such as being able to independently adjust the width of the front and rear tires.
Props to Forza for the awesome car list too. I know, no new GT-R just yet. But my daily driver is again included in the game (an Electron Blue Pearl 1999 Honda Civic Si-stock) as well as a bevy of beautiful Ferraris. The rendering of the Civic’s dash is incredibly accurate. Also, the addition of the racing Aston Martins is great!
My synopsis:
Pros:
- practically every aspect of the game
- drivers seat/dashboard view
- the car list
Cons:
- still long load times (but hey, consider the amount of game content you’re getting)
- the car list has a couple of notable emissions…the new GT-R being the most obvious (although I’m sure there is some political/Sony/fanboy reason behind it)
Overall: 4.9 out of 5.0
Rating: 4 / 5
Played through the first two seasons last night after receiving the game from Amazon.
Pros:
More cars, tracks, and a much better system for playing through the events. The season idea is great! I enjoy the way you can choose events that are based on what cars you already own. Like you may have read in other professional reviews, you play through about 50 events over the course of a career, but there are 200+ events total, so you can play career mode over and over and things will go differently each time.
Cons:
Biggest Con I can think of is that it feels as though cars have been left out intentionally to allow Microsoft to squeeze you for more $$$ down the road. One shining example: The Nissan GT-R. Amazing new car, perfect for this game, and Microsoft didn’t include it. Most of the tracks are the same as Forza 2, so if you owned that, you may be bored with the repetitiveness.

Just a short review. The physics are the best I’ve ever experienced and the graphics are a huge step up from Forza 2. The layout of the career makes it seem more than just picking out races to do. The Acheivements don’t force you to get a gold in every race so you don’t have to worry about perfection and can have some fun. Music can finally be heard during the race. In view cockpit views are fantastic and add greater realism to the experience.
With the option to turn on assists that make it so easy anyone can play, and the simulation style racing avaliable, this can appeal to everyone, but mostly the hardcore who will appreciate the greatness this game has to offer.
It’s the best racing game out, be sure to pick it up!

I made sure I bought this game on release day.
The demo of this game is excellent but it still
do not compare to the fun factor of the actual game.
I have played this game practically all day today.
I am not disappointed in the delivery and gameplay
of this title. I feel this game is a must buy
if you have a 360!
FORZA 3 Staff & Microsoft
GOOD JOB!

Like I said above best racing game I’ve ever played. This game is closely followed by Need For Speed Shift. Pick this up the way it looks so far it is a very long game that will keep you playing for hours. Graphics are eye candy. 10/10
