I am thirteen and hate the fakeness of old duck hunt games and was super surprised when I played this. All the fun of animal attacks but also a good hunting game. cabelas always makes great products, I know because I wear there hunting gear when im hunting for real. I love good shooters on xbox and this was one of them. I want to buy it on wii but need more money after buying the 09 Spyder Victor Paintball Gun Marker MEGA Set – Black(also a great buy) from amazon. Have fun and remember to kill the animals before they kill you.

Cabela’s “Big Game hunter 2010″ is a very fun hunting game for the Xbox, but it does have some replay limitations. That being said, it is enjoyable enough the first through. You start the game as a promising young hunter trying to join the “Orion Order” (an exclusive club), and have to prove your abilities by completing a serious of progressively more difficult hunts, with a wide selection of weapons. As another reviewer point out, this plays a lot like a sniper game, with targets that can hear and smell better than humans. Besides the main hunts, there are side hunts that are also fun but don’t count toward the grade needed to get into the club.
The actual hunting is fun and involves stalking, looking for signs, selecting the right weapon, and finding the right location to take the shot. It is a lot of fun, but the narrative voice guiding you can be very annoying over time and more than a little condescending, especially when you miss a shot.
Besides the narrator, the only real downside is that the game doesn’t change much if you replay a hunt.

Let me start by saying that I was a fan of the other Big Game Hunter installments. Nevertheless, they didn’t seem to evolve with gaming in general. BGH 2010 does. While it is easy (took about 10 hours to unlock all achievements), it was very fun and worth the coin.
One notable thing they eliminated that you’ll probably love, NO MORE HUFFING AND PUFFING AFTER RUNNING! No need to stop and regain your composure!! That was such a bother!!
The game was predictable after one time through. Animals were in the same spot and the blocking/timing was almost exactly the same. Although with the combo feature, using lighter weapons to harvest prey, combined with distance multiplier, made the game more interesting depending on how the player wanted to approach the gaming experience.
Fun game!!! I think they’ve finally figured out there at Activision how to deliver on a good hunting game. I hope the solid evolution will continue into the future.

This is as close to hunting as I wish to get. Very frustrating because I suck at it. I love this game and it’s so real I love watching my son as he hunts.
Buy it if you up for the adventure

I was very skeptical about this game, then I played the demo on Xbox Live. Wow, was I surprised. This game really is fun and does require some skill and offers a good challenge, all the while delivering an exceptional visual and audio experience. The best thing I like about the game is it’s pace, which is probably it’s strongest point.
Is it the definitive hunting simulator? No, it’ll be too arcade-like for some. What it ultimately boils down to is being an excellent sniper game; you’re just shooting animals instead of Nazis or Space Marines or whatever. But it’s almost a laid-back shooting game, where you can take your sweet time in doing nearly everything. Almost like a golf game, where you walk a little while, then it’s time to test your skill. If you like shooting games but don’t want to engage in a 14-year-old frag fest, this game will offer a good challenge in steady aiming and timing. It won me over, and I was dubious at first. For the price, a very good game for the market it is targeting.
